    proactive DOESNT work

  2. kwalters89 Says:

I would have to disagree. I have used MANY over the counter products and many of them dried out my skin. And the oxy pads really burn. How can that be good for your skin? I have used proactive for 2 years and I will never use anything else. And I don’t pay $65. I pay $45 for a 3 month supply. Proactive is defintely different than the other products.

  3. Goneformilesnow Says:

The today show is so lame. Neither of those girls even had acne, their skin looked perfect before hand. Anyone who truly suffers from acne knows neither pro active or oxy make a difference.

  4. acnedestroyer Says:

in this regard, im not sure. im a born and raised canadian so i think that makes the price lower for me. but you have insurance from a university institution. im at ubc and my insurance will cover just about anything, so im pretty sure yours will too.

  5. rasharkein1 Says:

waw that’s great! but does insurance have anything to do with it? i mean u prolly need to be canadian to get it at such a low price. i’m an international student here and my insurance card is through concordia it’s a sunrise program or something like that. do you think it covers it?

  6. acnedestroyer Says:

for me i pay 20 bucks for a months supply

  7. rasharkein1 Says:

u also live in canada? i don’t think it is covered by our healthcare:S

  8. acnedestroyer Says:

understandable. luckily i live in canada where this is covered by our healthcare system

  9. SuddenCatharsis Says:

I’ve already went on accutane twice but it came back both times and I’m not willing to go through all that again, the cost is too high as well. At this point all I can do is wait for it to go away, if it ever will.

  10. acnedestroyer Says:

same! completely agree. hows the accutane going for u?

  11. acnedestroyer Says:

agreed. they do have it less severe as i was saying above. im in the same boat as you! be aware that accutane has a 25% relapse rate. it works, but be prepared to go on it for more than one course. most ppl do not know that bc their drs or derms dont tell them that. and yur right, none of those creams work

  12. c0nsci0usness Says:

these products are bullshit, use natural alternatives such as tea tree oil. much more effective and more gentle on the skin.

  13. SuddenCatharsis Says:

acne is also made worse by diet. I’ve learned it the hard way many times.

  14. SuddenCatharsis Says:

yeh but from my understanding females have it less severe but keep it for longer. as a 19 year old male I’ve had severe acne for 5 years and would hope to grow out of it eventually. I was on accutane once and it worked, but the acne came back less than a year later. also none of those creams do jackshit on severe acne like mine, they only make it look worse.

  15. SuddenCatharsis Says:

Those products only work if you have mild acne. They’re worthless if you have severe acne because its from deep under the skin.

  16. BonezNblood Says:

i used an over the counter medication and it worked but the only problem i have with it is that when i put it on, i can’t move my face and it makes my face look ashy so i only put it on before i go to sleep which is not enough. i’ve never tried proactiv. my friend said it doesn’t work and she has milder acne than me. im gonna try to convince my parents to take me to a dermatologist.

  17. SuperChimmy Says:

oh i want to see a dermatologist so bad im hoping to get an appointment or at least a recomendation from my doctor over thanksgiving break. hope i get one!

  18. shanth92 Says:

I understand how you guys feel about acne…i am an expert at acne and i can clearly tell you that there are only 3 acne medications that work.
    doxycycline,accutane and antibiotics.

these medications should be prescibed by your dermatologist in which the appropriate amount of medication will be given.Never ever take an overdose over a medication prescibed because it wil harm your body indefinitely.
If any1 of you guys have acne, feel free to ask me questions and i ll reply to yr queries.

  19. TheOnlyJacobChannel Says:

im on accutane right now and the truth is none of the products they just talked about don’t work.

  20. MyDearCross Says:

Horrible. They used test subjects with very very mild acne. Of course those low-grade products will be effective on them. This whole study is friggin’ biased towards people with MINOR breakouts, and there are people with worse acne out there who spent waaay more money on products that don’t even work! (like me for instance!).

  21. valrecx Says:

My dermatologist made my acne worst! She gave me Pro Oxy cleanser and a Diacneal and after a few months my acne become worst! And you know what? She said that maybe I need to take ACCUTANE! That’s bullshit!!!

  22. decz101 Says:

    Great video buddy!

  23. brokentwice78 Says:

Sure it makes sense. the problem could be poor liver function. Not liver disease, but the liver isn’t able to cleanse the body out properly and toxins build up, doesn’t matter if you eat healthy. People can eat all the junk food they want and not break out because of proper liver function. And I would never go to another dermatologist, I don’t want to live off meds, probably the worst thing I could of done. We need to learn to take care of our bodies in order for it to function properly

  24. tammytrauma Says:

lol, when they showed the closeup of the oxy pads it was salicylic acid and the proactiv was BENZOYL peroxide, two completely different actives, and then they said, “these have the same active ingredient” what a terrible dermatologist. lol

Overall, benzoyl peroxide has been clinically proven to be more effective in treating acne, especially inflamed acne, so basically just look for benzoyl peroxide creams, they work the best, and if that doesn’t work, time to consult a derm.

  25. tammytrauma Says:

    this makes no sense.

Think of all of the people who eat clean and live a healthy lifestyle and still have acne, there are many.

Now think of alll of the people living a modern lifestyle of cigarette smoking, bar hopping (excessive drinking), and eating often at restaurants, and most of those people have clear skin.

I tried all of the natural stuff (tons of vitamins, more water, lemon juice, ACV, good diet , exercise, etc) and the ONLY thing that worked was a trip to a good derm.
